GABAergic presynaptic inhibition of excitatory transmission of primary afferent neurones of the spinal cord resulting in epileptiform convulsions, myosis, and dyspnea with more or less prolonged apnea. 

Overall, p agonists increase transmission in the mesolimbic dopamine system (Devine et al. 1993 Johnson and North 1992). They inhibit GABAergic neurons in the ventral tegmental area, disinhibiting dopamine activity. In contrast, k agonists inhibit dopamine release in the same system. As with other drugs of abuse, an influence on the mesolimbic dopamine is believed to mediate the positive reinforcing effects of opioids. 

The cortical, hippocampal, and thalamic GABAergic neurons are crucial for the inhibition of excitatory neurons. Foci of local imbalance, with a subnormal tone of GABAergic inhibition, may spread to distant areas to induce a seizure. GABA agonists such as benzodiazepines or barbiturates can decrease the occurrence of seizures or interrupt ongoing seizure activity (Bazil and Pedley, 1998). 

HT7 receptor acts by inhibiting Ca2+-activated K+ channels. The effect of clozapine to block 5-HT effects on GABAergic neurons in the ventral pallidum might be of importance for its antipsychotic effect (78).
