Future Work on Chemical Reactivity Hazards

This effort is expected to center on two of the primary thrusts introduced in Chapter 2 inform and communicate. The tables in this chapter list some areas where future work may be beneficial. [Pg.135]

Know if you have the potential for uncontrolled reaction(s) to take place within your facility [Pg.135]

Improve tools like CHETAH so people can identify chemical reactivity hazards without detailed knowledge develop genuine expert system  [Pg.135]

Encourage and facilitate the sharing of reactivity test data within and between companies [Pg.135]

Know how such reactions might be initiated (e.g., heat, contamination, inadvertent mixing, impact, friction, electrical short, lightning) [Pg.136]

Know what the consequences would be if such a reaction took place (e.g., toxic gas release, fire, explosion) [Pg.136]

Chapter 6 discusses what direction future work may take on managing chemical reactivity hazards. [Pg.23]
