Fungicides phytopathogenic

A number of compounds of invention (95EUP658547) include derivatives 116 which have excellent fungicidal activity. They exert excellent preventive effects on various phytopathogenic fungi, which makes them useful as an agricultural/ horticultural fungicides.

A number of natural product flavors and fragrances that fall into this category have recently been described in a short review (1). There are, however, a few medicinals from this group that are active as insecticides and fungicides against phytopathogens. Their medicinal properties are described here and their other properties will be discussed in the relevant sections of this chapter. 

Thiabendazole has been known since 1962 as an anthelmintic against dermatophytes fungi. Its bactericidal activity is low. It was found later that thiabendazole has a fungistatic and fungicidal effect on many phytopathogenic... 

Meanwhile, with the emphasis on environmental protection, the use of several fungicides was limited or banned and, at the same time, active antibiotics were discovered in increasing numbers, substances with excellent effects against several phytopathogenic fungi but which did not pollute the environment. Thus, the importance of antibiotics in agriculture rapidly increased.
