From ammonium hydroxides

Boron zirconimn chelates from ammonium hydroxide water-soluble amines sodium or potassimn zirconium and organic acid salts such as lactates, citrates, tartrates, glycolates, malates, gluconates, glycerates, and mandelates with polyols such as glycerol, erythritol, arabitol, xylitol, sorbitol, dulcitol, mannitol, inositol, monosaccharides, and disaccharides [463,464,1592,1593]... 

Both of these alkalies give solutions which spontaneously form opaque gels, in appearance differing from each other in color only. The gel from potassium hydroxide is green, while that from ammonium hydroxide is bluish violet. 

The product can be checked for the presence of chlorine by testing the output stream with the fumes from ammonium hydroxide chlorine produces the typical white cloud of ammonium chloride, while chlorine(IV) oxide does not. No chlorine is present in the effluent gas until two-thirds or more of the sodium chlorite has reacted, at which time chlorine may escape through channels in the remaining sodium chlorite without reacting. 

Adsorption of cupric hydroxide from ammonium hydroxide by starch causes the sorption of Cu(NH3)2(OH)2. The sorption of this copper species is more effective than the sorption of Ba(OH)2 however, the process is complex and cannot be expressed by a simple formula.481 On the other hand, fractionation of potato starch by means of Al(OH)3 has been reported.482 The complex of Cu(OH)2, ammonium hydroxide, and starch has been patented as a germicide and algicide composition.483...

The D.T.A. results also indicate that the gel precipitated from sodium hydroxide transforms to goethite more rapidly than that precipitated from ammonium hydroxide. 

In the same way that the formation of ammonium chloride from ammonium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid could be considered to be a displacement of water by hydrogen chloride, so it is possible to consider the above set of reactions in the case of the chromium chloride to be a set of displacement reactions. Compound (3) may be regarded as an addition compound containing both hydrogen chloride and water, since the part j is equivalent... 

The formation of olefins from alcohols is similar to the formation of ammonia from ammonium hydroxide ... 

Except In the presence of fairly large amounts of aluminum or Iron (ill), lead Is Incompletely precipitated as the hydroxide from ammonium hydroxide solutions. The hydroxide Is amphoteric, going Into solution In strong alkaline solutions due to formation of plumblte, HFbOg , Ions. In the presence of EDTA, lead is even less Inclined to precipitate as the hydroxide or to be carried on hydroxide precipitates. Precipitation of bismuth hydroxide from a 0.1 N NaOH solution containing excess EDTA has been used as a separation of lead and bismuth (L3) ... 

The phase composition of all alloy powder samples was determined by the X-ray technique. The X-ray diffraction patterns of all four samples electrodeposited from ammonium hydroxide containing solutions are shown in Fig. 5.8. 

A little used synthesis of primary alkylamines is the amination of organoboranes. Organoboranes have now been shown to react with chloramine-T prepared in situ from ammonium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite to give the corresponding amines (Scheme 5). This procedure then represents a mild, one-pot synthesis of various primary alkylamines from alkenes.
