Froben - Flurbiprofen

Froben " flurbiprofen, froxiprost [inn] (ONO 995) is a prostaglandin and synthetic analogue of dinoprost, and is a ( elective FP) PROSTANOID RECEPTOR AGONIST, active in contracting uterine smooth muscle. It is used as a pharmacological tool, frusemide [ban] (furosemide [inn.jan. usan) Fursemide Lasix etc.) is a (loop) DIURETIC which can be used as an ANITHYPERTENSIVE and to treat pulmonary oedema. 

Flurbiprofen 622 (Froben , Cebutid ) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory whose structure makes it an ideal target for synthesis using a combination of the powerful deproto-nating ability of the superbases and the weakly directing effects of a fluoro or an aryl substituent (Scheme 243)" . 

Three EPMEs based on carbon paste impregnated with different maltodextrins (DE 4.0-7.0 (I), 13-17 (II), 16.5-19.5 (III)) were proposed as chiral selectors for the assay of S-flurbiprofen raw materials and from its pharmaceutical formulation, Froben 100 tablets [38]. The best response and enantioselectivity were obtained when maltodextrin with the lowest DE was used for the electrode design. The three EPMEs showed very low detection limits.

Food slightly increased the maximum plasma level and AUC of sustained-release flurbiprofen Froben SR) by 15% and 25%, re-speetively, but delayed the time to achieve the maximum level by about 5 hours. In a study in 14 healthy subjects the pharmacokinetics of flurbiprofen were not affected by cranberry juice, grape juice or tea."...
