Test methods available are the free-running test (galvanic cell), galvano-static test (constant current) and potentiostatic test (constant potential). These are always run in conjunction with visual examinations with particular emphasis on dissolution pattern.

At 10Hz in a typical Nd-YAG laser 1000Hz/- /Hz, and the typical finesse asymmetry is of the order of one percent. For some parameter values the model for the mammalian clock fails to allow entrainment by 24-h LD cycles, regardless of the amplitude of the light-induced change in Per expression. The question arises whether there exists a syndrome corresponding to this mode of dynamic behavior predicted by the model. Compositionally uniform copolymers of tributyltin methacrylate (TBTM) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) are produced in a free running batch process by virtue of the monomer reactivity ratios for this combination of monomers (r (TBTM) = 0.96, r (MMA) = 1.0 at 80°C). Compositional ly homogeneous terpolymers were synthesised by keeping constant the instantaneous ratio of the three monomers in the reactor through the addition of the more reactive monomer (or monomers) at an appropriate rate. This procedure has been used by Guyot et al 6 in the preparation of butadiene-acrylonitrile emulsion copolymers and by Johnson et al (7) in the solution copolymerisation of styrene with methyl acrylate.

The decreased behavioural photoresponsiveness in cryptochrome-mutant mice is somewhat difficult to interpret since these mice also lack free-running circadian rhythms. Therefore, one is measuring masking, not circadian responses. Although masking is also preserved in retinal-degenerate animals (Mrosovsky et al 2000), the neural and molecular mechanisms of masking are not as well understood as those of circadian rhythms. 

A somewhat different view is supported by a number of other studies. Behavioural rhythmicity persists in SCN-lesioned rodents under the influence of either periodically available food (Davidson Stephan 1999, Stephan et al 1979) or continuous treatment with methamphetamine (Honma et al 1992). Rhythmicity of at least some circadian genes persists in isolated peripheral tissues for periods of time ranging from several days to two or three weeks (Yamazaki et al 2000, our unpublished results). Removal of the retina (which is known to contain its own circadian oscillator Tosini Menaker 1996) changes the distribution of free-running periods of locomotor activity and the duration of active time (a) (Yamazaki et al 2002a). To pursue our metaphor, these results suggest that circadian signals may be relayed to the periphery by a baton rather than a whip the SCN may indeed be the conductor of an orchestra composed of dozens, if not thousands of potentially independent oscillators.
