Freckles removal

Its water and/or hydroalcoholic extracts are used along with Dahurian angelica in freckle removal creams and lotions also used in other skin care products (sunscreen, acne, deodorant, antiperspirant, etc.) for its traditional skin-protectant, antiperspirant, calming, and nourishing properties (zhou). 

Powder and extracts used in skin care products (especially acne creams, freckle removing and antifungal creams) and in hair care products (antidandruff shampoos, hair-growth... 

Aqueous and hydroalcohoUc extracts of both red and white peony roots are used in skin care products for their antimicrobial (acne creams, etc.), anti-inflammatory, and astringent properties used with Dahurian angelica (see that entry) in freckle-removal creams and lotions for their traditional ability to remove blood stasis and activate blood circulation also used as part of a n natural preservative system in cosmetic products due to its relatively high content of benzoic acid (etic zhou). 

Hydroquinone in a 2 percent solution is used in many skin-lightening creams and gels to remove freckles, age spots, and other hyper-pigmented areas of the skin. 

Skin lighteners, freckle and age spot removers, and other remedies for hyperpigmentation are not actually bleaches like the products listed so far. The active ingredient is hydroquinone, which inhibits melanin formation when applied to the skin. Since the effect is easily reversed by exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light, a sunscreen is usually included in the formula. 

Dimethylthianthrene is an ingredient in shampoos and soaps used to control scabies, pediculosis, seborrhea, and pruritis [71AX(B)1523 81MIP1, 85JAP(K)59232198], and in admixture with ditoluene disulfide, it is used as a skin cosmetic [81 JAP(K)55151507] for the removal of freckles (though why this should be seen to be desirable escapes this reviewer).

Freckles before (a) and after (b) a peel to the papillary dermis (Unideep ). A peel to the papillary dermis improves the quality of the skin, removes the freckles and improves the fine lines, but does not treat wrinkles. 

A peel to the basal layer lightens the freckles, sometimes only temporarily. A peel to the Grenz zone removes many freckles and lightens others. A peel to the papillary or reticular dermis gets rid of freckles altogether (Figure 13.11). 

AK usually presents as a small (2 to 6 mm), erythematous papule that feels flat, rough, or scaly when palpated (Fig. 94-12, Plate 12). It tends to be found in chronically sun-exposed areas, such as the top of the hands, head, neck, and forearms. Typically, patients with AKs are elderly and have fair skin, light-colored eyes, freckles, and a history of significant sun exposure and tend to sunburn easily. Because AKs are likely caused by ultraviolet radiation, sun-preventive measures, particularly in childhood, are of utmost importance. Most commonly, AKs are treated with liquid nitrogen, which will remove the lesion. Another frequently used therapy is topical 5-fluorouracil. Patients who are prescribed topical 5-fluorouracil should be properly counseled, as significant erythema, erosion, crusting, and even ulceration normally occur during treatment. 

Specific types of lasers can be used to treat benign pigmented lesions with a predominant epidermal component such as freckles and tattoos. In addition, numerous laser-based devices can remove unwanted hair. 

First, in India, the Iris juice from fresh erushed roots of Iris species with wine has bee used traditionally for the treatment of dropsy as an oral medicine from since long ago. The Iris juice has been also used in a cosmetic for the removal of skin freckles. Moreover, the Iris plant has been used in the treatments such as cancer, inflammation, bacterial and viral infections [41]. 

Traditional Medicine. Used since ancient times in Egypt to treat hypertension and to eliminate kidney stones, and in Europe as a tonic, stomachic, febrifuge, and sedative. Used in lotions to remove freckles, spots, and other skin blemishes and in treating cancers.
