The impact of loss of tax credits, loss carry forward, and other tax benefits should be studied. Such things as start-up problems that increase the first year s operating costs and reduce the production should also be studied. With a good economic computer program, such as described earlier, all of these sensitivity analyses can be made in an afternoon.

As the program continued to move forward the team once again faced the need to evaluate the synthetic approach to taranabant, this time with regard to implementation on scales in excess of 100kg and for potential manufacturing purposes. This approach demonstrates that use of only a part of this procedure will represent a step forward over the trial-and-error method of formula and process modification. It is not always necessary to carry these studies to completion. For example, once the designed experimentation has been completed, one might be able to accomplish the task simply by analyzing the graphs therefore, further mathematical treatment or search programs will not be necessary. Some of the examples in the following section illustrate this fact.

At every clock tick, the developmental program of each cell (in the graph of interconnected cells) computes its next state and whether it will produce a new cell or not. Division produces a new cell with exactly the same (unchangeable) developmental program as the mother cell, but with a new location = location of the mother cell + 1. Because CGP and by extension DCGP only allow feed-forward graphs, the inputs of all cells will come from external inputs and/or the outputs of other cells, which are directly/indi-rectly connected to the external inputs. Hence, if the external inputs stay stable, then so will the outputs of all the cells in the graph. 

In the previous section we examined a particular canonical form for schemes, namely block structured schemes, in which the program is built in nodules connected in a tree-like fashion. In this section we carry this idea one step forward and examine schemes written in a "line-like" form - the so-called "WHILE schemes" or "GOTO-less schemes". 

A variant of the method discussed in this chapter has been proposed by C. A. R. Hoare using a set of axioms and rules of inference to establish partial correctness of programs. The method of Hoare appears more flexible in that axioms and rules can be introduced to cover various constructs of particular programming languages and their implementations, but also appears, at least to this author, even more cumbersome and unwieldy than the Floyd-Manna-King approach when applied to simple flowchart-like programs. The formal mathematical justification for both approaches is the same. Basically, the approach used to date employs "forward substitution" from hypothesis assertion to conclusion assertion while the Hoare... 

We can carry the ideas in the proof that every recursively enumerable set is the value language of some monadic program scheme one step forward and show that in a certain sense we can translate monadic recursion schemes into monadic program schemes, this notion of translatability being weak translatability. 

For the next several chapters in this book we will illustrate the straight forward calculations used for multivariate regression. In each case we continue to perform all mathematical operations using MATLAB software [1, 2], We have already discussed and shown the manual methods for calculating most of the matrix algebra used here in references [3-6]. You may wish to program these operations yourselves or use other software to routinely make these calculations.
