Formulating a Strategy

A researcher formulating a strategy for a particular company must determine what portion of the planned output will be sold by its sales force and whether distributors or manufacturers representatives might be beneficial. If it appears that a distributor or agent is needed, a separate evaluation of the capabihties of representative companies or individuals should be made. [Pg.537]

Weibull plots of various fibre properties, such as the filament count, modulus, elongation at break and the strength, can provide important information on the quality and performance of the manufacturing process. The results can be used to formulate a strategy for the improvement of the yarn properties. [Pg.17]

The charge model has been used in formulating a strategy for infill drilling to develop additional reserves within the Judy Field. Petroleum-water contacts and fluid types are in line with pre-drilling predictions. [Pg.205]

Danishefsky formulated a strategy to staurosporine [41], in which epoxidation of glycal (-)-98 with maleimide 97 resulted in one of the indole N-glycosidic linkages to form 99. Treatment of olefin 99 using Barton deoxygenation, iodine and f-BuOK followed by radical dehalogenation provided the pyranosylated indolocarbazole 101 with 64% yield. Deprotection and methylation followed as shown in Scheme 14 (i.e., 101—102), after which reduction of imide 102 led to a 1 1 mixture of 1 and la. [Pg.103]

In many instances, the analytical reference standard will be readily available from one or more commercial sources but this is not always the case. Certified reference materials (Section 2.2.2, not natural matrix CRMs but calibration solutions that are solutions of a reference standard at a certified concentration in a clean solvent) must be prepared and characterized in accordance with the strict guidelines in ISO Guide 34-2000 (ILAC 2000). The reference standard may also be supplied by the chent and this is often the case when working with proprietary compounds in development. If neither of these two options exist, the standard must be synthesized or in some instances extracted from a natural product or commercial formulation and then purified. The requirements for obtaining a certificate of analysis (Section 9.4.4c) or other documentation that establishes the identity and purity of the analyte are discussed in Section 2.2.2 and also below in 9.4.4c, but the amount of standard available is also an important factor in terms of formulating a strategy for the... [Pg.479]
