Foil seals

TCDD were added to 300-g samples of silty loam and sandy soils and then assayed periodically for residues (Kearney et al. 1971). Measurements of 2,3,7,8-TCDD residues after 20, 40, 80, 160, and 350 days of incubation at 28 °C in foil-sealed beakers indicated a relatively slow degradation process in both soils. After 350 days, 56% of the initially applied 2,3,7,8-TCDD was recovered from the sandy soil, while 63% was recovered from the silty clay loam for all concentrations (Kearney et al. 1971).

Loose tablets. Several foil-sealed tablets are packed loose in an outer cardboard pack. Full instructions for use and precautions are provided on the label on the outside of the pack and on several fly sheets (as specified in the order) packed inside the cardboard box with the tablets. 

Envelope and presentation tablets. Single foil-sealed tablets are attached to an envelope card labelled with full instructions for use and precautions. Several envelope cards are packed in a single outer carton labelled with full instructions for use and precautions.

Systems based on standard single trip containers. Potentially any. Systems often rely on presence of a foil seal so as to remain closed while an alternative closure is fitted. Wisdom system. Contents withdrawn in measured amounts. Container inverted in system. Can also be used with keg type containers. 

On activating, the material separates to provide a foil seal with a pulpboard liner in the cap as a reseal. 

Bottle seals—paper or foil sealed to the mouth of a container under the cap. The seal must be tom or broken to open the container and remove the product. 

This method of sample introduction is useful for gases and for liquids with sufihciently high vapor pressures. The gas or vapor is allowed to expand into an evacuated, heated vessel. The sample is then leaked into the ionization source through pin holes in a gold foil seal. This is sometimes termed a molecular leak inlet. Vacuum pumps control the system so that the pressure in the ionization source is at the required torr. 

A double tamper-evident cap sealer has been introduced by Paklink. It has a ring style enclosure incorporating an inner foil seal which, once heat sealed, provides a hermetic barrier suitable for products... 

The storage temperatures used were 6.6°, —12.2°, —23.4°, and — 29.0° C. The wraps were (1) glassine, (unsealed), (2) double glassine, (unsealed) and (3) sulfite paper laminated aluminum foil (sealed). The details of the thawing and curing procedures are shown in Table XVIII.
