Foam breaking foaming agents

When heated, azodicarbonamide breaks apart into gaseous carbon monoxide, nitrogen, and ammonia. Azodicarbonamide is used as a foaming agent in the polymer indushy. (a) Add nonbonding electron pairs and multiple bonds as required to complete the Lewis stmcture of this molecule, (b) Determine the geometry around each inner atom. [Pg.650]

The number represents the inverse of the well known gas throughput number Q, Fr is the Froude number incorporating the gas throughput and ct is the dimensionless fraction of the foaming agent in the liquid (e.g. in ppm). S represents a (still unknown) dimensionless combination of physical properties, which describe the tendency of the foam to break up. [Pg.181]

To counter this concern, Sandia labs developed another foam product that was faster acting and less corrosive, DF-200. DF-200 has a lower concentration of peroxide and surfactants and contains an activator to increase the speed with which it breaks down agents. [Pg.620]

Uses Surfactant, emulsifier for emulsion polymerization (acrylics, styrene-acrylic, vinyl acrylics, S/B, paints, coatings), lt.-duty detergents, textiles, cosmetics, hair and skin detergents, pharmaceutical creams and lotions breaks up and holds oils and soil vise, builder foaming agent for plasterboard, lightweight concrete prod. in food-pkg. adhesives... [Pg.977]

Since mechanical foam breaking with its high input E>ower requirements is expensive, anti foam agents are usually preferred in the fermentation industry. The presence of anti foam agents, however, deteriorates the efficiency of gas dispersion by increasing the bubble coalescence rate. [Pg.452]

To eliminate imwanted influxes, many wells have been intentionally drilled overbalanced with foam. Proper fluid chemistry is essential in these situations. If the foam breaks-down, or specifically, if the viscosity of the foam is altered by the influxes, the friction factor decreases and, in turn, the bottom hole pressure is reduced. A general understanding of fluid chemistry, and the selection of the proper foaming agent, is essential in assuring a successful project. Many projects have failed in the past due to inadequately applied chemistry. [Pg.299]

Foaming agents essentially break down at set temperatures while still in the injection cylinder, which requires the use of special design principles for the HR system and the way the hot runners operate within the machine. [Pg.60]
