This could be due to the fact that the stronger modifiers may be sufficiently acidic to be partly deprotonated when contacted with the alkaline simulant. In 2009, Rovis and co-workers [54] developed the chiral NHC catalyzed intermolecular Stetter reaction of heteroarylaldehydes with nitroalkenes. The XPS method was applied for the investigation of the morphology of crosslinked fluorine-modified UPR (FUPR) systems, prepared from conventional UPRs and poly(fi-caprolactone)-perfluoropolyether-poly(e-caprolac-tone) block copolymers (TXCL) [72]. A very strong surface enrichment in fluorinated segments, which increases by increasing the TX/PCL ratio, was demonstrated by XPS analysis. 

SiHcone resins provide coatings having outstanding heat resistance and exterior durabiHty. The cost is relatively high but for specialized appHcations these resins are important binders (64). Silicone-modified acryHc and polyester resins provide binders having intermediate durabiHty properties and cost. Fluorinated polymers also exhibit outstanding durabiHty properties. High cost, however, limits appHcabiHty.
