Flowability, detergents

The following test composition indicated Monateric lf-100 s outstanding stability on caustic soda. This formula has been stored for weeks at 95C and for several months at 5qq with little or no change in color or flowability. Detergency and foaming properties were also unaffected. 

In the food, detergent and cement industries, hoppers used to store powders prior to filling containers such as sacks, cartons or tins are often fluidized locally to improve flowability and reduce flow problems. Fluid beds may also be employed to blend the ingredients before filling. Here it is clearly important to ensure that components are well mixed so that each container receives the correct average mixture.

Alkali metal alkanesulfonates containing an average of 11-21 carbon atoms are used as viscosity regulators for highly concentrated a-sulfo fatty acid ester salt solutions (more than 30% surfactant), so that the detergent is flowable and pumpable [94]. 

Zeolite powder has the lowest flowability of all detergent powder components. Bridging in the silos and screwers is a common event. An improvement can be obtained by modifying the surface by sorption of different additives (e.g.. Silanes [57]), or modifying the surface as early as the induction period, as was discussed above.
