Floors embedding

Static and seismic loads are transmitted by bolts to floor embedments and/or to the k>o1 walls by horizontal compressive beams. During a safe shutdown, earthquake (SSE),. stored fuel integrity is maintained following im SSE, fuel is removable. Following a SSE, stored fuel is reusable. 

Embedment in, or contact with, various building materials Metal components may be embedded in various building mortars, plasters, concrete or floor compositions, or else may be in contact with these. Similarly, they may be in contact with materials such as other metals, wood, etc. 

Magnesium oxychloride cements are widely used for the fabrication of floors. They find application for this purpose because of their attractive appearance, which resembles marble, and also because of their acoustic and elastic properties and their resistance to the accumulation of static charge. They have also been used for plastering walls, both interior and exterior for exterior walls the cement often includes embedded stone aggregate (Sorrell Armstrong, 1976). However, there have been problems with this latter application, since the base cement has been found to be dimensionally unstable and, in certain circumstances, to release corrosive solutions and show poor weather resistance.

Drying. The drying step for large shapes is critical. Extremely large fireclay and silica shapes are sometimes allowed to dry on a temperature-controlled floor heated by steam or air ducts embedded in the concrete. Smaller shapes are generally dried in a tunnel dryer. The ware is placed on cars that enter the cold end and exit at the hot end. 

These analyses revealed a perpendicular arc of debris expected for habitual hearth-side workspaces (45). The hearth-associated scatter found on the floor of this Late Archaic pithouse provides clear evidence that ochre was thermally processed to change its color. Further it shows that thermal processing of ochre occurred in a domestic context though it was primarily used in symbolic and ritual contexts. At Jiskairumoko, preparation of ochre for symbolic and ritual purposes appears to have been embedded in the domestic setting. The occupation bears early evidence for prestige goods in burial contexts. Yet, ochre preparation does not appear to have occurred in specialized architecture. Social differentiation was taking place, but preparation of ritual materials took place in domestic contexts. 

In this barrier-embedded micro mixer, oblique grooves, placed at the channel s floor, and barrier structures at the channel ceiling replace the flights and barriers of the chaos screw [58], The placement of the structures, however, is not essential for the functions. The positions at the floor and ceilings may change without loss of performance two-sided structures are expected to exhibit improved mixing over single-sided structures. The barriers are placed periodically so that barrier-free zones intersect. 

There is clearly a multitude of hydrodynamic systems of interest, and the focus here is on the channel flow system with a single narrow band embedded in the channel floor. The methods of discretising this system point the way... 

Example 10 Furnace Simulation via Zoning The furnace chamber depicted in Fig. 5-20 is heated by combustion gases passing through 20 vertical radiant tubes which are backed by refractory sidewalls. The tubes have an outside diameter of D = 5 in (12.7 cm) mounted on C = 12 in (4.72 cm) centers and a gray body emissivity of 0.8. The interior (radiant) portion of the furnace is a 6 x 8 x 10 ft rectangular parallelepiped with a total surface area of 376 ft2 (34.932 m2). A 50-fL (4.645-m2) sink is positioned centrally on the floor of the furnace. The tube and sink temperatures are measured with embedded thermocouples as 1500 and 1200°F, respectively. Chaudhari also envisioned floating furniture guided by wires embedded in the floor to get a table or a chair to rise and sink, designers would use small electromagnets that could be controlled with a simple dial. In man and in other mammalian species, the major mass of the prostate, usually consisting of the right and left lateral and the middle lobes, is composed of alveoli lined with columnar epithelium embedded in a thick fibromuscular stroma. Mor-Flo 430-M1 is a restorer concentrate formulation which can be easily diluted with water to form a "ready-to-use" solution. Recommended for mop-on applications where high and ultra-speed maintenance procedures are used. Since the restorer is a film former, floors should be clean and free of embedded soil prior to application. Application of the restorer fills small scratches and enhances gloss. The coating may be burnished after drying. 

Of course, floors in a structure receive the greatest abuse, where deterioration occurs in such areas, epoxy resin systems have been widely used for repairs. Industrial floors are now constructed with initial specifications calling for an epoxy mortar, usually, 1/4 inch in thickness, to provide a diemically and physically resistant surface.
