Fire, generally behavior

One additional point of consideration when interpreting the above studies is to note that in pre-clinical models, retigabine and to a lesser extent ICA-27243 also affect locomotor activity. However, in general there is a separation between the MED for efficacy in pain models and the lowest dose which shows locomotor side-effects, supporting the hypothesis that Kv7 agonists are effective in pre-clinical models of pain independent of inhibiting motor function. These results in conjunction with those reported in studies on sensory neurons indicate that Kv7 activation inhibits nociceptive neuronal firing and behavioral endpoints in pre-clinical pain models. [Pg.37]

The post-fire elastic modulus, E, can be estimated from Eq. (8.2). The recovered elastic modulus for the DuraSpan material used was 88% of Eg, which was obtained from two-mn DMA, see Section 8.2.3. It should be noted that such a modulus recovery is a general behavior for FRP composites cooled down from glass transition, but before decomposition. For comparison, another pultraded GFRP material (from FiberHne, Denmark) is shown in Figure 8.16 [14], which exhibited a recovery to 96% of the initial value. [Pg.200]

A general treatment of fires in mines must deal with the general scenarios under which they are likely to occur. The origin of fires maybe a diverse field, but the basic manifestations can be hmited to a few variables. The first of these will be the consideration of the basic fire presentation. Next will be the state of the fire with respect to the combustion chemistry. The method of ignition will be considered also, particularly in respect to self-ignition. Finally, some discussion is warranted with respect to the general behavior of fire-related phenomena. [Pg.369]

The physical properties important for the projected use of hydraulic fluids are viscosity, density, foaming behavior, and fire resistance. There is no generally recognized test method for measuring flammability of hydraulic fluids, although various test methods maybe utilized (Moller 1989). [Pg.266]
