Filter stability

RP-HPLC methods have been frequently applied for the investigation of various chemical, biochemical and biophysical processes in in vitro model systems. Thus, the separation of new compounds achieved by enzymatic oxidation of phloridzin was carried out by semi-preparative RP-HPLC. Phloridzin was incubated with a polyphenol oxidase prepared from apple pulp for 6h at 30°C under air agitation. After incubation the suspension was filtered, stabilized by NaF and injected into the RP-HPLC column using diluted acetic acid-ACN gradient. The new compounds were isolated and identified by NMR and MA techniques. The proposed mechanism of the formation of new phloridzin derivatives 3 and 4 is shown in Fig. 2.159. The results illustrate that RP-HPLC can be successfully used for the study of enzymatic processes in model systems [331],... [Pg.341]

The most common technique for estimating thermal stability is called the Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation Test (JFTOT). It shows the tendency of the fuel to form deposits on a metallic surface brought to high temperature. The sample passes under a pressure of 34.5 bar through a heated aluminum tube (260°C for Jet Al). After two and one-half hours, the pressure drop across a 17-micron filter placed at the outlet of the heater is measured (ASTM D 3241). [Pg.229]

The Mathieu equation for the quadnipole ion trap again has stable, bounded solutions conesponding to stable, bounded trajectories inside the trap. The stability diagram for the ion trap is quite complex, but a subsection of the diagram, correspondmg to stable trajectories near the physical centre of the trap, is shown in figure Bl.7.15. The interpretation of the diagram is similar to that for tire quadnipole mass filter. [Pg.1347]

Anotlier standard metliod is to use a (high-speed) centrifuge to sediment tire colloids, replace tire supernatant and redisperse tire particles. Provided tire particles are well stabilized in tire solvent, tliis allows for a rigorous purification. Larger objects, such as particle aggregates, can be fractionated off because tliey settle first. A tliird metliod is (ultra)filtration, whereby larger impurities can be retained, particularly using membrane filters witli accurately defined pore sizes. [Pg.2670]

We describe a simple computational example to demonstrate two key features of the new protocol Stability with respect to a large time step and filtering of high frequency modes. In the present manuscript we do not discuss examples of rate calculations. These calculations will be described in future publications. [Pg.278]

A filter cake from the wringer is washed to remove absorbed acid, transferred to a slurry tank of water, and quickly submerged, after which the nitrocellulose is pumped to the stabilization operation as a diluted water slurry. Exhaust systems are installed to protect personnel and equipment from acid fumes, and water sprays and cyclone separators are used for acid fume recovery before venting to the air. [Pg.14]

Teflon PEA 440 HP is a chemically modified form of PEA 340 that provides additional benefits such as enhanced purity and improved thermal stability. This product is suitable for producing tubing, pipe linings for production of ultrapure chemicals, semiconductor components, and fluid handling systems for high performance filters (31). [Pg.376]

Raw juice is heated, treated sequentially with lime (CaO) and carbon dioxide, and filtered. This accomplishes three objectives (/) microbial activity is terminated (2) the thin juice produced is clear and only lightly colored and (J) the juice is chemically stabilized so that subsequent processing steps of evaporation and crystalliza tion do not result in uncontrolled hydrolysis of sucrose, scaling of heating surfaces, or coprecipitation of material other than sucrose. [Pg.26]
