Pneumatic filter

On the flow path two pneumatic 3-way ball valves used to bypass the filter. Pneumatic 4-way (or an arrangement of 3-way) ball valves are used to bypass the chromatographic column and to revert the elution direction into the chromatographic column. [Pg.227]

Air cleaning (dust collection) can be cost effective for LVHV systems handling valuable dusts. Care must be taken when handling potentially toxic dusts from air cleaners. Regular, routine reconditioning of fabric filters (e.g., by automatic shaking or pneumatic pulsing) is impottant. This can be accomplished on a set maintenance schedule or as a function of pressure drop across the fabric filter. It is not recommended to recirculate airflow back to the workplace because of the low air volume and potential hazards in the event of filter failures. [Pg.865]

The separation step requires (1) application of a force that produces a differential motion of the particles relative to the gas, and (2) sufficient gas-retention time for the particles to migrate to the collecting surface. Most dust-collections systems are comprised of a pneumatic-conveying system and some device that separates suspended particulate matter from the conveyed air stream. The more common systems use either filter media (e.g., fabric bags) or cyclonic separators to separate the particulate matter from air. [Pg.777]

A baghouse system consists of the following pneumatic-conveyor system, filter media, a back-flush cleaning system, and a fan or blower to provide airflow. [Pg.777]

Nonpharmacologic methods improve venous blood flow by mechanical means and include early ambulation, electrical stimulation of calf muscles during prolonged surgery, graduated compression stockings, intermittent pneumatic compression devices, and inferior vena cava filters. [Pg.188]

An aluminum enclosure housed the working components of the cotton-dust analyzer. The upper section of the enclosure, which was hinged to the lower section, contained the HEPA filter, the spray bar assembly, and the top, hold-down screen for the lint batt. The botton section housed the sizing screen, filter support, fan, and the electrical and pneumatic controls. The entire enclosure was 60 cm wide, 46 cm deep, and 72 cm tall. [Pg.55]
