Bag film

Polyethylene film bags are closed by heat-seahng together the face and back of the bag. The closing unit consists of a pair of belts that support the top of the bag and guide it through a heated section that fuses the face and back. This is followed by a coohng section. [Pg.1964]

The most common technique in determining desorption efficiency is to inject the compound or a solution of the compound directly into the solid sorbent (13). The mixture is allowed to stand overnight and then desorbed and analyzed. Gases and highly volatile compounds are usually introduced as a mixture in air or nitrogen from a SARAN film bag or a cylinder. [Pg.158]

Calibration of FAGE1 from a static reactor (a Teflon film bag that collapses as sample is withdrawn) has been reported (78). In static decay, HO reacts with a tracer T that has a loss that can be measured by an independent technique T necessarily has no sinks other than HO reaction (see Table I) and no sources within the reactor. From equation 17, the instantaneous HO concentration is calculated from the instantaneous slope of a plot of ln[T] versus time. The presence of other reagents may be necessary to ensure sufficient HO however, the mechanisms by which HO is generated and lost are of no concern, because the loss of the tracer by reaction with whatever HO is present is what is observed. Turbulent transport must keep the reactor s contents well mixed so that the analytically measured HO concentration is representative of the volume-averaged HO concentration reflected by the tracer consumption. If the HO concentration is constant, the random error in [HO] calculated from the tracer decay slope can be obtained from the slope uncertainty of a least squares fit. Systematic error would arise from uncertainties in the rate constant for the T + HO reaction, but several tracers may be employed concurrently. In general, HO may be nonconstant in the reactor, so its concentration variation must be separated from noise associated with the [T] measurement, which must therefore be determined separately. [Pg.374]

These kinds of products are normally used in mulch films, bags and packing. Other systems have been investigated. The combination starch/ polyester has been claimed to be fully biodegradable (Tokiwa et al., 1993). Others are partially biodegradable, like starch/polyethylene/poly-e-caprolactone blends (Corp, 2001) and their derivatives or combinations of starch and modified polyesters. [Pg.133]

Farnell Packaging has been in business for over forty years as a custom manufacturer of polyethylene and co-polyester films, bags, sheets and pressure-sensitive labels. Farnell Packaging products are sold throughout the North American market and all of its quality systems are registered under IS09001 2000. [Pg.116]

Experiments were performed in a Teflon-film bag of about 300 litres placed in a dark box equipped with an irradiation system and a temperature regulation device. The latter consist of 2 fans fixed at the top of the box flushing laboratory air around the bag. The irradiation system consists of 6 Philips TMX 204 LS fluorescent tubes (30 W, max = 254 nm) and 6 Philips TMX 200 LS tubes (18 W, Xmax = 365 nm), distributed on both chamber sides. Each tube can be operated separately in order to modulate the irradiation flux. In the experiments presented below, only the fluorescent tubes at 365 nm have been used. Organic... [Pg.182]

The company is a leading manufacturer of polyethylene, the world s most widely used plastics, for films, bags, bottles, and electrical insulation. Not surprisingly, it is a technology leader in polyethylene and polypropylene. [Pg.272]

Vibration also leads to friction, causing abrasion and possible text damage. Certain surfaces (plastic, enamels, etc.) or decorated/printed items must avoid contact with abrasive materials (wood, fibreboard, paper and board, etc.) and be overwrapped in a less damaging material, e.g. PE/PP film, bags or an air cap. [Pg.398]
