This kind of electronic situation is rather common in ferrocene polymers. In fact, it has been found also in the polymers represented in Scheme 1. 

As far as the electrode adsorption phenomena caused by P° y erro cenes are concerned, Figure 26 shows the cyclic voltammetric response o the illustrated fluorenyl-ferrocene polymer (Fw 7000).

In a subsequent investigation by the author [1] a pyrolysis of siloxane-ferrocene polymers, (IV), was used to prepare ceramic materials. 

The disulfide links in the organometallic ferrocene polymers can be reductively cleaved, as in other disulfide-connected structures such as proteins, and the iron centers can be oxidized electrochemically to give ferrocenium units [273] both these redox processes are reversible in principle.
