Expansion joints water-side

Rubber expansion joints are successfully used in several industrial plants, nuclear and military installations to control leaks in hot and cold water distribution systems, chilled water and condensed water piping, and suction and discharge sides of pumps adjacent to compressors. [Pg.73]

Two different sizes of expansion joints (EJ) are used in the PWS system (small and large nominal diameter sizes). The small EJs are attached to the primary side outlet connection of each of the 12 PWS-HXs located in 6 primary loops of each reactor. The large nominal-size EJs are located on the suction side of each of the Process Water Pumps, between the suction inlet and the isolation valve. The fundamental difference between the two sizes of EJs is in the type of end connections. [Pg.297]
