Excessive circulation

An excessive circulation rate may overload the reboiler and prevent good glycol regeneration. The heat required by the reboiler is directly proportional to the circulation rate. Thus, an increase in circulation rate may decrease reboiler temperature, decreasing lean glycol concentration, and actually decrease the amount of water that is removed by the glycol from the gas. Only if the reboiler temperature remains constant will an inc.rea,se in circulation rate lower the dew point of the gas. 

The level of intracellular cholesterol is regulated through cholesterol-induced suppression of LDL-receptor synthesis and cholesterol-induced inhibition of cholesterol synthesis. The increased level of intracellular cholesterol that results from LDL uptake has the additional effect of activating acyl-CoA cholesteryl acyl transferase (ACAT) (see below), thereby allowing the storage of excess cholesterol within cells. However, the effect of cholesterol-induced suppression of LDL-receptor synthesis is a decrease in the rate at which LDLs and IDLs are removed from the serum. This can lead to excess circulating levels of cholesterol and cholesteryl esters when the dietary intake of fat and cholesterol is excessive. Excess cholesterol tends to be deposited in the skin and tendons and within the arteries, which can lead to atherosclerosis.

Inlet line This line is usually sized for a cross-sectional area of 25 to 50 percent of the total tube cross-sectional area of the reboiler (124, 253, 358). A relatively high pressure drop in the inlet line is important for preventing excessive circulation, dampening oscillations, and for minimizing preheat zone length. 

Excessive circulation. Excessive circulation occurs when reboiler sump level is too high and cannot be lowered (e.g., when the level is set by the top of a preferential baffle in the bottom sump). This may restrict heat transfer rate as described in the previous section. This problem is uncommon in pressure systems, but more widespread in vacuum and atmospheric reboilers. 

These droplets (Figure 1.7a), which do not seem to be aging-related, can result from excessive circulating triglycerides, or from impairment of their catabolism within the muscle fibers, including the mitochondrial phase of their utilization for ATP/ energy fuel. They also seem to be more numerous in obese persons (Engel and Askanas, unpublished results).

Treat supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, especially those caused by excess circulating catecholamines.
