Set up a plot layout similar to the example given in Fig. 4.17. Load the C spectrum of glucose D NMRDATA GLUCOSE 1D C GC 001999.1R, check its calibration and perform a peak picking. From the Output pull-down menu choose the Page Layout option and set the Left Limit and Right Limit to 100 ppm and 10 ppm, the Offset to 1 cm and MaxY to 14cm. 

Structure addresses the technical characteristics of the record related to formats, layout, or organization of records. Examples are file format, category, page layout, hyperlinks, headers, and footnotes. 

The command Print Spectra uses a template to create a plot of spectra and all associated parameters. After loading as usual the relevant spectrum into the window of the Select Files page of the Plot Spectra dialog box (Fig. 13.2), it is necessary to choose a page layout. Hence, use the Change Layout button to select a template from the folder OPUSDEMO Scripts (see Fig. 13.3). To inspect the final layout prior to plotting, click on the Preview button to open another window that shows an exact copy of the subsequent plot. An example of such a print preview is displayed in Fig. 13.4.

On pages 232-234 is an example in the other extreme, where a high-pressure, fast reaction is studied on an industrial size catalyst. The layout and calculation schemes are the same as in the NOx example, so these are not repeated here. 

An experienced validation practitioner can prodnce a Validation Plan for a computer system (usually 10 to 15 pages long) in abont 3 days. An example Vahdation Plan layout is illustrated in Appendix 6C. The structure of Validation Plans mnst be scaleable to fit the system or software being validated. For large projects, configuration management and fnnctional test planning may be split ont into separate documents. Validation Plans can also make nse of appendices for project milestones and resumes of project team members. 

Figure 25 shows a single cell of a bipolar electrolyzer, consisting of 26 such elements, for the production of (NH/O2S2O8 from (NH4)2SC>4 as an example [60, 61]. Other cells used today origine from the former Weissenstein process (see next page). Their basic layout is described in [57]. 

Kerning is another important aspect of spacing and layout. To kern is to selectively adjust the amount of space between particular letters or words in a block of type to achieve a desired effect. For example, a typographer may decrease the spaces between letters as the size of type on a page increases in order to keep the overall shape of the words uniform. Increasing the spaces between words can also help slow the reader down as he or she moves through the text.
