Event messaging

One of the positive side effects of an electronic solution is that it does not necessarily affect the current workflow if reviews or signatures have to be applied. The current work status can be made available during the routine use of the system, and a signature can be applied to a record while the scientist is working on another. 

A messaging system is a central communication port in data management software and, again, is particularly useful in documentation systems. A messaging system includes a calendar, making it easier for lab managers to review their tasks based on a certain date. It works similarly to an e-mail system consisting of three communication ports  

Messages Writing, sending, and receiving messages like in an e-mail system additionally, links to documents or records can be inserted, and the recipient can directly open the associated file. 

Notifications These are automatically sent and received if the record status changes, as well as from different other modules, if certain events occur. 

Signature Requests These are messages concerning signature tasks and deadlines links to the corresponding records are automatically included.

Activities (tasks and sub-processes). An activity is a generic term for work that the operator performs. An activity can be atomic or non-atomic (compound). Events (start events, messages to be sent to the system or the other actors, completion events, errors, deviations, tools related events)... 

Everything in Swarm is an object with three main characteristics Name, Data and Rules. An object s Name consists of an ID that is used to send messages to the object, a type and a module name. An object s Data consists of whatever local data (i.e. internal state variables) the user wants an agent to possess. The Rules are functions to handle any messages that are sent to the object. The basic unit of Swarm is a swarm a collection of objects with a schedule of event over those objects. Swarm also supplies the user with an interface and analysis tools. 

Another way in which the general message that we endorse might be expressed is through clarification not of the notion of accommodation but instead of that of prediction . In fact scientists often use the notion of prediction in an atemporal sense—that is, one which carries no implicit requirement that predicted events have been hitherto unobserved. Here, for example, is a comment on Newton s theory from French s excellent textbook on Newtonian Mechanics (French, 1971, pp, 5-6 emphases added) ... 

Messages should be sent alerting outside agencies of the event and current situation. 

This self-consistent equation has a simple message the relevant friction for the reaction is determined by the (Laplace) frequency component of the time dependent friction at the reactive frequency X. This frequency sets the basic time scale for the microscopic events affecting k. 

An operation begins with an invocation a function call or message send. This prescribes the limits on the sequence of events that should happen. We know from the beginning of the sequence which operation we re dealing with... 

Components have a richer range of intercommunication mechanisms such as events and workflows, rather than only the basic 00 message. These mechanisms support easier composition of the parts. 

We can specify the change that stimulates the output, using the old and new state notation of postconditions within an effect invariant (see Section 3.5.4, Effect Invariants). Notice the caret mark denoting that this message is scheduled to be sent. Here, we ve declared the output event superfluously both in text and pictorially. ( output event pressed could have been omitted.)...
