European wild rabbit

A search through the literature showed that the existence of the odour-producing glands mentioned above had already been recorded by anatomists and histologists, but in view of a complete absence of information on the behaviour of the species, the question of their functions was wrongly interpreted or completely ignored. Thus, there was an obvious need to clarify the role of the odoriferous skin glands in the European wild rabbit. [Pg.4]
