She opened her first shop in 1909 in Paris and steadily developed her line in fashions, but when in 1919, she looked at introducing her first perfume, she went to an expert, Ernest Beaux. [Pg.333]

Ernest Beaux (1881-1961) was a Russian-born son of a French father, chief perfumer to A. Rallet Co., a Moscow soap and perfume manufacturer. He eventually became the senior perfumer at Rallet in 1907. [Pg.333]

Baur went on to synthesize even better nitromusks, notably Musk Xylene, Musk Ketone and Musk Ambrette. These and similar molecules e.g. Musk Moskene and Musk Tibetine) became widely used in the perfume industry.
