Elements, parasitic

A substrate is a robust element that provides mechanical support for the die. It can be mounted with more than one die such packages are called multichip modules. Because parasitic capacitance effects are directiy proportional to the dielectric constant, substrate material should have a low dielectric constant. [Pg.525]

The frequency response or switching speed of the bipolar transistor is governed by the same processes which control the speed of thep—n junction, the capacitance associated with the movement of charge into and out of the depletion regions. To achieve high frequencies the dimensions of the active areas and parasitic circuit elements must be reduced. The two critical dimensions are the width of the emitter contact and the base thickness, W. The cutoff frequency,, is the frequency at which = 57 / - b /t > where is the emitter-to-coUector delay time and is the sum of the emitter... [Pg.352]

NOTE Do not use snubber values or snubber elements intended for silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) circuits in switching power supplies. The impedances and parasitic values of these circuits are much lower than within switching power supplies. They will create far too much loss in switching power supply circuits. [Pg.146]

ZVS QR topologies appear to be the more popular of two methods of quasi-resonant technologies. This is mainly due to two reasons first, its typical variation in frequency over its input and load variations is 4 f as opposed to fO f for the ZCS topologies secondly, it has a better heavy load performance. Also, some of the more troublesome parasitic elements within the circuit can be more easily harnessed. [Pg.155]

The endoparasite C. sonorensis has evolved with the ability to generate extrachromosomal genetic elements in the form of multiple double-stranded, superhelical DNA molecules. These DNA molecules are amplified in the calyx cell nucleus, packaged into viruses, and secreted in a complex process of viral maturation, which also provides a complex double viral envelope. One viral envelope is assembled in the cell nucleus, and the other is obtained during budding from the calyx cell surface into the oviduct lumen. Viral envelopes, which are derived from cellular membranes, may mediate species-specific virus host cell and tissue interactions. This could be one important aspect of the species-specific endoparasite-host relationship fundamental to parasite survival. [Pg.88]
