Effects of Abscisic Acid

ABA is reported to inhibit the elongation of roots and root segments in certain dicots (Pilet 1970, El-Antably and Larsen 1974, Gaither et al. 1975). However, since inhibition by high concentrations of ABA is not as strong as inhibition by low levels of lAA (Pilet 1970), there remains some doubt as to the importance of ABA itself as a natural inhibitor of root growth.  [Pg.54]
