The compression-molded part, by definition, does not have flow-induced orientation. Comparison of compression-molded part properties with those of an injection-molded part can show the effect of melt temperature on properties. In the compression-molded article without flow-induced orientation, the impact strength remains constant until a certain melt temperature is surpassed and then decreases. This thermal degradation effect can be attributed to the polybutadiene component, which acts as an initiation site for oxidative degradation of the matrices. 

The composition and structure of the base EPDM and the sulfonate content of the metal sulfonate-containing EPDM exert substantial effects on the mechanical and flow properties of ionomers. Melt inclusions are common in mineral separates used to date volcanic and hyperbyssal rocks, but have received little attention. However, the effects of melt inclusions from a historic flow on Mount Erebus were studied by Esser et al. (1997) showing that their presence resulted in saddle-shaped age spectra during stepped Ar release (Fig. 7a). 

PC/ABS blend is an injection moldable material widely used for automotive parts. These blends, developed in 1960, can be prepared by simple meltmixing of PC with ABS, without any compatibilizer. In this early stage of polymer blends technology, the phase diagram of polymer/polymer mixture, the spinodal decomposition, and the effect of the flow fields were not seriously considered. Nowadays, using these concepts, one can describe the processes that are behind the simple melt-mixing . 

Unmodified crystal polystyrene is relatively stable under oxidative conditions, so that for many applications the addition of an antioxidant is not required. Nevertheless, repeated processing may lead to oxidative damage of the material, leading to an increase of melt flow index and to embrittlement of the material. Stabilization is effected by the addition of octadecyl-3-(3,5-di-rerr-butyl-4-hydroxy-phenyl)-propionate at concentrations of up to 0.15%, if necessary in combination with phosphates or phosphonites to improve color.
