The CPS is trained in clinical pharmacy, clinical pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology. Hc/she is a Masters or Pharm. D. graduate, has completed an accredited phannacy residency, is a specialty board certified pharmacist, or has equivalent education, training and experience functioning as a clinical pharmacist. 

To be conscious that engineering problems cannot be solved only according to university education training, but also experience gained after graduation with criticism and interpretations ...

The implication was that this program would be different from others in that no attempt would be made to train graduates for specific industrial positions. Those students wishing that kind of training would have to go on for further study at other schools, like Cornell. There is no evidence that students felt compelled to complete a more traditional engineering education, but the latter part of the statement would remain a hallmark of the Rochester education to the present time. 

The present book brings to the reader a state-of-the-art treatment of high-pressure shock compression of solids in a type of tutorial manner. It has been felt by the shock physics and engineering communities that there is a need for such a book to aid the education and training of undergraduate and graduate students of physics and engineering. We hope that the present book will partially fill that vacuum. We certainly welcome any comment or criticism on the content of this book, in the hope that these will be incorporated into later editions of the book. 

The book is also useful for undergraduate and graduate courses in chemical engineering. Some faults of the old book have been ehminated. One fault was its level of difficulty. It was too hard for undergraduates at most U.S. universities. The new book is better. Known rough spots have been smoothed, and it is easier to skip advanced material without loss of continuity. However, the new book remains terse and somewhat more advanced in its level of treatment than is the current U.S. standard. Its goal as a text is not to train students in the application of existing solutions but to educate them for the solution of new problems. Thus, the reader should be prepared to work out the details of some examples rather than expect a complete solution. 

Integrate measurement science into the fundamental intellectual core of graduate education and training for scientists and engineers.
