Editing tab

The Editing tab sets some of the more general features of how ACID works. There are only three simple options  [Pg.284]

Under the View tab (i.e., under Tools => Options => View) you can toggle the appearance of spreadsheet Gridlines on or off. When you create a new workbook, the sheet tabs have the names Sheetl, Sheet2, etc. To rename a sheet, double-click on the sheet tab. The sheehicime will be highlighted and you can enter a more descriptive name, as, for example, in Figure 1-2. Click outside the sheet tab to exit from edit mode. [Pg.6]

To copy a chart, select the chart by clicking in the chart border. Then choose Copy from the Edit menu. A marquee will appear around the chart. Edit characters in a text box in the usual way. Once a change has been made in a field, the Restore button is enabled you can use it to restore the original data if you spot an error in the new text. To edit a single field in all records, tab forward to that field or click the mouse pointer in it then use the up or down arrow keys to move to the same field in other records. [Pg.140]

As described in Chapter 5, the Data Labels tab in the Format Data Series dialog box allows you to add data labels to a chart (to each data point in an XY chart, or to each column in a column chart, for example). But only the x values or the y values can be used as labels. You d probably like to use some other text as data labels. You can do this manually, by adding the data labels, then manually editing each one to enter the text you want. A macro will make the task much easier. [Pg.295]

One way to remove, or strip, the parenthetical uncertainties in the table of atomic masses is to use Excel s Find/Replace function. We will illustrate this approach with a few of the entries. Copy the atomic masses from hydrogen through copper, including the uncertainties, to column F, cells F2 F30. Now highlight cells F2 F30. Go to the Edit menu and choose Replace. If for any reason you want to modify or edit the chart, dick the Gian menu and choose die Gian Options. Now you can modify or edit the dde, axis labels, spacing among the grid-lines, l end, and so on. Just choose the pertinent tab and proceed. [Pg.392]
