ECHO virus hepatitis

Virus infections Acute viral hepatitis (HAV, HEV, HCV) is accompanied by cholestasis in 5-20% of cases. (63) The frequency differs from country to country. It is most prevalent in those with a severe form of the disease, elderly people and women. Cholestasis is also common in viral infections with concomitant hepatitis, especially due to CMV, Coxsackie virus, rubella virus, HSV (types I, II, IV), HIV, REO virus (type III), parvovirus (type B 19), and ECHO virus (types 9, 11, 14, 19). [Pg.232]

Enveloped viruses extensively studied include vaccinia virus, togavirus, influenza A virus, and rabies virus. Naked viruses also have been investigated quite extensively, including picornaviruses, poliovirus, coxsackievirus, and echo-virus. Enteroviruses, such as hepatitis A and B, and rotaviruses have been studied for their resistance to chemical and physical influences, including the effectiveness of alcohols. [Pg.125]

Virtually no studies of host cell protein synthesis inhibition have been conducted for other picornaviruses such as rhino virus, foot-and-mouth disease virus, Theiler s virus, coxsackie, echo, or hepatitis A... [Pg.208]
