The electrical and heat analysis, as discussed in Section 15.3, will show the relationship between power and heat and how this varies over time. It may be necessary to use steam bypass and stations or dump condenser, as discussed in Section 15.2. The uses of dump condensers for meeting part-load requirement is inefficient and should be avoided. It is more acceptable to reduce turbine power output accordingly and import or top-up from an alternative supply. 

The unit power to mix can be generally described as a function of the rotor surface area, the RPM used during mixing, the time required to reach dump temperature for the first pass mix, and a treatment for the type of antidegradant used. Again the discrete variable of antidegradant was treated continuously by assigning the values of 0, 1, and 2 to the conditions of Ctrl, PPD, and QDI. 

This process can be modified slightly to function as a true concentration cell. If electrical power is applied instead of supplying H2 to the anode, the carbonate and bicarbonate will be directly oxidized, as shown in Fig. 20 [29]. The advantage to this mode of operation is that the mixture of C02 and 02 from the anode can be delivered to the cathode of an acid-electrolyte cell (Fig. 21) which will act as an oxygen concentrator, rejecting the C02. The purified oxygen is returned to the cabin the C02, containing only 2 or 3% 02, is dumped overboard.

The scope and scale of pollution from radionuclides has been greatly reduced due to (1) the cessation of aboveground nuclear bomb testing, (2) an international ban on the dumping of nuclear wastes at sea, and (3) better control of discharges from power and fuel reprocessing plants. 

The assertion that one could affect a city with an easily portable quantity of LSD dumped into its water supply is outrageously inaccurate. Powerful as it is, tons of LSD would be required to create an effective concentration in the huge volume of a major city s reservoir. In the presence of sunlight and chlorination, it is doubtful that residual LSD would have any perceptible effect by the time it reached consumer faucets. The amount of chlorine in a glass of ordinary tap water is sufficient to rapidly deactivate a full dose of LSD.
