Drill result

Better well control allows at-balance or even underbalanced drilling, resulting in higher penetration rates and reduced potential for formation damage. 

Drilling results in the Blake Bahama Ridge have given promise for recovery of energy from hydrate reserves. Hydrate recovery results from ODP Leg 164 in the Blake Bahama Ridge seem to confirm the large resource estimation (Pauli et al., 1997, 2000 Lorenson and Collett, 2000).

The drilling results suggest the depth to bedrock to be about 4.8 21.5 m with an upslope increase in the overburden thickness. Bed rock encountered is mainly shale and sandstone. The 126 m excavated length of the Adit-2 reveals interbedded sequence of dark grey, micaceous sandstone and carbonaceous shale with occasional coal (shaly) beds. 

A quantified characteristic and morphometric peaks of karst forms and breaking zones are shown in Tables 1 and 2. Within the Glavnaya Kizelovskaya anticline there are no drilling results. 

In order to drill the eight holes shown in Fig. 11.14, setting up the rotary table is exactly the same, and then the table is moved a distance equal to half the pcd, i.e. 35 mm. The graduations on the rotary table are set to zero and the first hole drilled. The rotary table is then rotated 45° (360/8) and the second hole drilled. This is repeated until all the holes are drilled, resulting in eight equi-spaced holes on a 70 mm pcd. 

Run drills Do not give advance notice, but simulate fires in various parts of the mine and challenge personnel to respond. Don t be surprised if the first such drill results in a lot of confusion and I don t know responses.
