Drainage Duration

Empirical studies have shown that poorly drained vertical surfaces can drag out 5 to 10 times the process solution that well-drained vertical surfaces do (Soderberg 1936, Pinkerton 1984, p.695). Most metal shops make some efforts to drain workpieces before transferring them to another bath. It is common, however, especially on hand lines (plating lines on which workpieces are moved from bath to bath by hand rather than automatically) as well as on some automatic lines to transfer parts while they are still slowly dripping, indicating that drainage is not complete. 

Various authors have constructed models that relate drainage to time, notably Jeffreys (1930), Van Rossum (1958), Batchelor (1967), Tallmadge (1971) and Meltzer (1989). 

Automatic plating lines in which the movement of parts through the line are computer-controlled can increase drain time by augment the dwell times that parts spend above the process baths after they are removed. It also aids drainage to remove the parts as slowly as possible from the baths less fluid is entrained on the parts that way. On hand lines, when parts are removed from the baths, they can be hung on racks above the baths, or above drainage boards that drain back into the baths.

The clinical presentation of osteomyelitis may vary depending on route and duration of infection, as well as patient-specific factors such as infection site, age, and comorbidities. In hematogenous osteomyelitis, the patient typically experiences systemic and localized signs and symptoms.3 4 7 12 13 In comparison, patients with chronic infection typically present with only localized signs and symptoms.4 6 A cardinal sign of chronic osteomyelitis is the formation of sinus tracts with purulent drainage.2,3,6... 

Exposure protection systems provide protection by the application of water to structures and equipment for the anticipated duration of the exposure fire. Water spray curtains are generally less effective than direct application due to unfavorable conditions such as wind, thermal updrafts, and inadequate drainage. Extinguishing agents such as CO2 or dry chemical agents are not able to provide this type of cooling. 

The time for film drainage is obtained from the duration of the collision, which is determined by the rotation of the collision doublet It was shown that flattening of the droplet delays the drainage and, above a capillary number of 0.02, considerably reduces the coalescence probability. 

It is also possible to employ Silics for treatment in the case of puerperal infections occurring after cesarean sections. Lavage and drainage of the cavity of the uterus shortened the duration of fever, which, in its turn, decreased the time span of antibacterial therapy. Silics in the capacity of applications or as an ingredient for drainage is also successfully employed for treatment for gynecologic diseases proper (such as vaginitis, endometritis, pelvioperitonitis).
