Discharge pressure increases Subject

System performance and power requirement are therefore normally graphically presented and calculated in the same way as for clear liquids. Subject to some minor corrections, a centrifugal pump will pump the same volumetric flowrate of slurry as for water through a given flow system. The pump discharge pressure and its power draw will be increased in proportion to the slurry specific gravity, as for any clear fluid of increased density. 

Raising the level in the vessel from which the pump is taking flow by just 2 ft dramatically increases the pump s discharge pressure. It seems as if the pump s performance jumps from an inferior performance curve to its normal performance curve (see Fig. 34.10). I learned all about this subject on a feezing, windy, and damp day in Holland. My client had thought that something was wrong with their pump, but it was really just a minor hquid level recalibration problem. 

The main subject of this review were the theoretical aspects of plasma CVD processes. The applications will be discussed in another paper. The results so far obtained show that the plasma of intense low pressure discharges offers new techniques of crystal growth. There are also other problems and tasks, which are just as important and which merit a more thorough study. These include for example, the application of plasma to thin film technology, the importance of which may be expected to increase in ihe future. The purification of materials by plasma transport can find practical uses, and many other applications will certainly be found.
