Liquid chromatography was developed to analyze carbonyl (2,4-dinitro-phenyl) hydrazones with detection by diode array ultraviolet spectroscopy (DA-UV) and by atmospheric pressure negative chemical ionization (APNCI) mass spectrometry [716]. In addition, LC can be combined with electrospray ionization coupled on-line with a photolysis reactor for better detection and confirmation of photo degradation products [717]. 

Sunamoto et al. 94) have studied the reaction of (14) with 2,4-dinitro-phenyl sulfate in aqueous organic solvent with 0.1 A sodiiun hydroxide. The rate of esterolysis by (14) was greater than the rate of the reaction catalyzed by -cyclodextrin. Better binding by the paracyclophane cavity and the greater nucleophilicity of the oxime group as compared to the secondary hydroxyl group of jS-cycdextrin were cited to explain the difference in catalytic efficiency. 

Other interesting examples of these amino-exchange reactions are the conversion of 3-aminocarbonyl-4-R-l-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)pyridinium salt (2) into 3-aminocarbonyl-4-R-l-cbutylpyridinium salt by Cbutylamine (82RTC342) and the preparation of l-(pentadeuteriophenyl)-3-amino-carbonyl-4-deuteriopyridinium salt from 3-aminocarbonyl-l-(2,4-dinitro-phenyl)-4-deuteriopyridinium salt (2, R = D) with pentadeuterioaniline (84T433) (Scheme IIL2). 

Bei der Photolyse von l-(2,4-Dinitro-phenyl)-4-phcnyl-imidazol in Ethanol wird der Heterocyclus in einer intramolekularen Redox-Reaktion gespalten. Unter Recyclisierung erhalt man 2-Benzoyl-6-nitro-benzimid-azol [50% Schmp. 255° (Zers.)]326.

Die Bestrahlung von Azobenzolen in Anwesenheit von Sauerstoff fiihrt zu unterschied-lichen Resultaten. 4-Arylazo-l-hydroxy-naphthaline liefern nur 1,4-Naphthochinon. Kei-nerlei Oxidationsprodukte werden bei 4-Amino-4 -nitro-azobenzol erhalten. 4-Dimethyl-amino-2/,4 -dinitro-azobenzol liefert in 35-40% Ausbeute l-(4-Dimethylamino-phenyl)-2- (2,4-dinitro-phenyl)-diazen-l-oxid2. 

Die elektrophilc Aminierung von C,H-Verbindungen (z.b. Phenylmalonsaure-diethylestcr zum Amino-phenyl-malonsaure-diethylester, 53%) gelingt in manchen Fallen durch Umsetzung des Carbanions mit 0-(2,4-Dinitro-phenyl)-hydroxylamin1. 

Das durch Reaktion von 0-(2,4-Dinitro-phenyl)-hydroxylamin mit tert.-Butyl-hypochlo-rit erhaltliche, aber nicht isolierte N-Chlor-0-(2,4-dinitro-phenyl)-hydroxylamin reagiert mit Perhydro-9b-bora-phenalen zu 5-Hydroxy-13-aza-bicyclo[7.3.1 ]tridecan ( 90% Aus-beute bei 97%iger Reinheit), das thermisch zu Perhydro-9b-aza-phenalen dehydratisiert werden kann (66% Ausbeute bei 94%iger Reinheit)1.
