Digital graphics

Kinetic studies have benefited immensely from microcomputers. Whereas dedicated software is often necessary for interfacing to specific instmments, data analysis can be carried out using readily available software materials capable of producing high quaUty graphical output. Most recentiy, it has become common to measure concentrations in some way that produces digital data that is entered automatically into the computer (see Computer technology). [Pg.509]

The use of high purity selenium in digital imaging is considered a potential market. Selenium-based plates can be used to replace conventional silver-based x-ray film, and in 1994 the Xerox Corporation introduced a selenium-based product, Verdefilm, for use in graphic arts appHcations. [Pg.338]

Outputs are available in either analogue (D.C. or A.C.) or digital form. Digital output may connect the meter to computers (either portable or office based) for more complex calculations or to produce larger graphical displays. [Pg.654]

Before the advent of the digital computer high-order and nonlinear functions were impractical at best, and without a graphics-plotter much time is needed to draw a curve. Interpolation, particularly in the form X = /(y), is neither transparent nor straightforward if confidence limits are requested. [Pg.95]

The confidence interval Cl(fi) serves the same purpose as Cl(Xmean) in Section 1.3.2 the quality of these average values is described in a manner that is graphic and allows meaningful comparisons to be made. An example from photometry, see Table 2.2, is used to illustrate the calculations (see also data file UV.dat) further calculations, comments, and interpretations are found in the appropriate Sections. Results in Table 2.3 are tabulated with more significant digits than is warranted, but this allows the reader to check... [Pg.97]

The e-records rule uses many terms that must be understood to grasp fully the intent of the rule. FDA defines electronic records as any combination of text, graphics, data, audio, pictorial, or other information presented in digital form that is created, modified, maintained, archived, retrieved, or distributed by a computer system . A printout of a computer file is not the actual electronic record itself Electronic records include other relevant data, such as which user made a change, the time and date that the change was made, etc. [Pg.1078]

Many different digital simulation software simulation software packages are available on the market Modern tools are numerically powerful, highly interactive and allow sophisticated types of graphical and numerical output Many packages also allow optimisation and parameter estimation. [Pg.226]
