Digital evaluation circuit

Such evaluation circuits can be analog or digital. One example of each type is described here. 

The Bosch microsilicon air-flow meter is available with analog (HFM5) or digital (HFM6) signal evaluation circuits. 

There are various magnetic-field sensors on the market. A Hall-effect sensor measures magnetic-flux density B perpendicular to its plane (Fig. 7.11.14). In one direction a constant current flows through the Hall-effect sensor. The external magnetic-flux density B creates a proportional voltage t/Haii- Various Hall-effect sensors are on the market, mostly with an evaluation circuit to deliver a digital output. 

The method is quite effective, but is not widely used now because of the ubiquity of digital computers. Zuman and Patel - 36. show circuit designs for some kinetic schemes. Williams and Bruice made good use of the analog computer in their study of the reduction of pyruvate by 1,5-dihydroflavin. In this simulation eight rate constants were evaluated variations in these parameters of 5% yielded discemibly poorer curve fits. 

Personal electronic or electrical devices that may require control are pagers, cellular phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and personal radios or music players. Few, if any, of these devices are evaluated to determine if they may be safely used in hazardous areas. Typically, such devices do not claim to be "intrinsically safe" or of "nonincendive circuit" design (NFPA 70, Articles 500 and 504). 

The field of cathode activation, as well as that of anode activation, requires the use of complementary physical techniques to evaluate systems otherwise difficult to understand. Electrochemical techniques are sufficient to evaluate the kinetic parameters and the state of intermediates, especially if digital acquisition of open-circuit potential-decay transients, coupled with computer processing of the data, is used [104-106]. But the chemical and physical characterization of the surface remains essential. The literature shows that such an approach is becoming more accepted, so that there are hopes that the real situation of a number of systems will become clarified in the near future. 

Closed circuit TV (CCTV) cameras (color or black-and-white) for furnace systems are usually industrial surveillance types (typically 540-line high-resolution). These transmit the images of combustion to normal industrial-type monitors, which may be in a control room or locally at the viewing site. The process can also be digitally recorded for further evaluation. 

The evaluation of CIE consists of 2-A reviews that are conducted by the course instructor. The basic criteria for evaluation include an ability to understand the problem and carry out the literature survey, and ability to work as a team member. It also includes quality of work, documentation, report writing and presentation skills. The example rubrics followed for Pulse and Digital Circuits are as follows ...
