While common one-dimensional SDS-PAGE is a powerful tool for separating hydrophobic membrane proteins (Reinders et al. 2006a), it only provides minor resolution of complex protein samples, and consequently is not suited for differential analyses.

With the data in Figure 40, one can make other differential analyses. The consistent conclusion is that the price of methanol is the significant factor in this feedstock cost and product price sensitivity analysis. 

Most of the analytical treatments of center-fed columns describe the purification mechanism in an adiabatic oscillating spiral column (Fig. 22-9). However, the analyses by Moyers (op. cit.) and Griffin (op. cit.) are for a nonadiabatic dense-bed column. Differential treatment of the horizontal-purifier (Fig. 22-8) performance has not been reported however, overall material and enthalpy balances have been described by Brodie (op. cit.) and apply equally well to other designs. 

Thermoanalytical method is one of the widespread methods of physical and chemical reseai ches. Considerably broadens its possibilities combination with methods differential-thermal (DTA), differential-thermogravimetric (DTG), thermogravimetric (TG) analyses. 

The vertical temperature gradient (the lapse rate) is usually not monitored by routine meteorological observation, and it, too, must be approximated from estimates of solar insolation, solar angle, and differential heating due to uneven cloud cover. For purposes of diffusion analyses, the lapse rate is usually approximated by a constant. 

Many preliminary analyses of gas turbines are based on the assumption of a closed air standard cyclic plant, and for such analyses the use of tj as a thermal efficiency is entirely correct (as discussed in the early part of Chapter 3 of this book). But most practical gas turbines are of the open type and the rational efficiency should strictly be used, or at least its approximate form, the arbitrary overall efficiency tjq. We have followed this practice in the latter part of Chapter 3 and subsequent chapters even though some engineers consider this differentiation to be a somewhat pedantic point and many authors refer to tjo as a thermal efficiency (or sometimes the lower heating value thermal efficiency ).
