Diethylphosphine

Thiirane is more bactericidal than oxirane, and derivatives of 2-mei captomethylthiirane inhibit tuberculosis. The following pharmacological uses have been reported for compounds derived from thiirane derivatives gold complexes of the adducts of diethylphosphine and thiirane (antiarthritic), adducts of thiiranes and malononitrile (antibacterial, blood vessel dilators, muscle relaxants, sedatives), thermolysis products of thiirane 1-oxides and adducts of thiirane 1-oxides with sulfenyl chlorides (antibacterial), adducts of 2,3-diarylthiirene 1,1-dioxides with ynamines (antibacterial, parasiticidal), adducts of 2,3-diarylthiirene 1,1-dioxides with enamines (antifertility), adducts of p-aminophenylacetic esters with thiirane (immunosuppressants), adducts of amines and thiiranes (radioprotective drugs).

This anhydrous zinc borate was also claimed to improve the stability of a halogen-free polyamide containing aluminum diethylphosphinate, a new halogen-free flame retardant developed by Clariant.69 For aircraft applications, this zinc borate alone is also reported to be effective in reducing the HRR of polyetherketones and polysulfones (Table 9.7).70... 

Zinc borate in PC/ABS and polyamide—when zinc borate is used in conjunction with bisphenol-A-bis-diphenyl phosphate in PC/ABS, it was reported that borophosphate and zinc phosphate were generated during polymer combustion.111 The formation of these materials could be beneficial for passing the more stringent Are tests, such as UL-95 5 V. When Firebrake 500 is used in conjunction with aluminum diethylphosphinate and melamine polyphosphate in polyamide, Schartel et al. reported the formation of boron aluminum phosphate in the condensed phase.112... 

The main gases evolved from PA6 and PA6 + NC in nitrogen are e-caprolactam, hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, water, and ammonia. Other composites namely PA6 + FR and PA6 + FR + NC evolve the same volatiles with an additional phosphorous containing species. PA6 + FR yields diethylphosphinic acid (from aluminum diethylphosphinate), and the water and carbon dioxide arise from the decomposition of melamine polyphosphate through condensation and hydrolytic decomposition. 

Diethyl (trimethylsilyl) phosphine has been prepared by the reaction of lithium diethylphosphide with chlorotrimethyl-silane in ether solution.4 The lithium diethylphosphide may be prepared by the reaction of an ether solution of phenyllithium with diethylphosphine.6 However, the dialkylphosphines are most conveniently prepared by the reduction of the corresponding tetraalkyldiphosphine disulfides with lithium tetrahydro-aluminate in ether.6 7 An alternative method for the preparation of dimethyl(trimethylsilyl)phosphine which eliminates the handling of the volatile dimethylphosphine involves the preparation of lithium dimethylphosphide from tetramethyldiphosphine. The latter is prepared by the reduction of tetramethyldiphosphine disulfide8 with tributylphosphine.9 The reaction of chlorotrimethylsilane with lithium dimethylphosphide is most conveniently carried out in a vacuum system without solvent at -78°.
