In reality you will now make more detailed sketches or models of the injectors so that everybody will know what is being discussed. However, we do not need these to explain the method. [Pg.91]

Figures 1 and 2 show the pile structure as a whole. Earth is filled in around it ultimately, to the height of the pile proper or perhaps a little above this. The roof passes above the tops of the control rods. A more detailed sketch of the base construction is given in Fig. 3. Figures 1 and 2 show the pile structure as a whole. A detailed sketch is a type of freehand technical sketch that provides detailed information about the object such as annotations (notes), dimensions, and shading. [Pg.91]

Detailed Sketch This type of sketch is when a designer or an engineer wants to further develop a thumbnail sketch. A detailed sketch may be a pictorial or two-dimensional (2-D) sketch that includes dimensions, annotations, and symbols. The sketch may also include shading or shadows for effect (see Figure 4-8b). [Pg.91]

There are three types of freehand technical sketching thumbnail, detailed sketch, and presentation. [Pg.107]

Designing and production of hats Designers create hats and hair accessories by drawing a detailed sketch, complete with trim, from which a sample is made. Designers consider the appeal, wearability, proportion, and price point when creating hat and hair accessories. Hats may be woven, felted, knitted, or crocheted. Buckram may form the base of a fashion hat that will ultimately be covered in fashion fabric. [Pg.169]

The Molecular Beam Machine and the Detection System. The second component of the real-time MPI experiments is a molecular supersonic beam machine [116] with a quadrupole mass spectrometer (QMS), allowing the detection of ionized molecules and clusters with high sensitivity. A side elevation is shown in Fig. 2.17. The production of the molecular beam and the interaction of the laser pulse trains with the molecular beam are performed in a differentially pumped vacuum apparatus consisting of two separate chambers, which are briefly described in the following two paragraphs. A more detailed sketch of the two-chamber system is presented in Fig. 2.18. The production sub-chamber (oven chamber) is pumped by a 3000 /s oil diffusion pump (Balzers) with a baffle at the flange to the oven chamber to allow a pressure in the chamber of less then 10 mbar. During the experiments the pressure is typically 5 x 10 to 3 x 10 bar. In the second chamber a maximum pressure of 10 mbar is established by a 2200 /s turbomolecular pump (Balzers). [Pg.26]

In The Stones of Venice, Ruskin s vivid description of St. Mark s Cathedral (Figure 4.2), a most magnificent structure in Venice— the most precious building in Europe standing yet in the eyes of men and the sunshine of heaven (Ruskin on St. Mark s, 1880)—and his detailed sketches of the same (Figures 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, and 4.8) demonstrate the ability of the author to pen with passion and eloquent style, and the artist to draw with precision and color, the beauty of its architecture ... [Pg.68]
