Reactions may be seen to Cynara scolymus in market gardeners [224], food handlers, vegetable sellers [225], and workers cleaning artichokes [223], and to parsley and parsnip in kitchen workers [201, 204, 205]. In Japan, persons who wrap leaves of the beefsteak plant, Perilla frutescens (shiso) are prone to develop allergic contact dermatitis, apparently from L-perillaldehyde [226].
