This critical section should include individual patient data in a tabulated form. Demographic values (age, sex, race, etc.), patient inclusion and exclusion criteria, relevant clinical measures for the particular study must also be included. Special clinical and laboratory measures used for the study must have a rationale for these tests as well as an explanation for the significance of the results. All concomitant medications used during the clinical trial must be listed for each patient admitted into the study. Other clinical observations of less relevance should be addressed. 

Demographic and baseline features of individual patients and the comparability of treatment groups for these features are needed. If the patients in the intent-to-treat analysis and the clinically relevant analysis differ in number and identity, the comparability in both sets must be examined. In multicenter studies, comparability should be assessed both within and across centers. Tabular listings of individual patient demographic and baseline data should be provided. 

Data from the obstetrical optimality list were collected in this study as potential confounders and covariates of interest. The list included 72 items that measure SES (demographic, educational, and occupational variables) and pre-, intra-, and immediate postpartum conditions (Huisman et al. 1995a). Other potential confounders were maternal smoking and alcohol consumption (Koopman-Esseboom et al. 

Even if you are sending a more generalized mailer to either a purcheised list or your databeise, you should still be segmenting your list based on demographic or behavioral data.
