Delatine, which has been isolated comparatively recently (4) from Delphinium elatum L., cannot readily be related to the pentacyclic CiqHis-NH nucleus on the basis of the empirical formula given. If the base described is pure, it may be erroneously formulated alternatively, it may not belong to the group of alkaloids here considered (although the general resemblance to the atisines makes this unlikely). Chemical evidence as to its constitution is lacking. [Pg.292]

Alkaloid from whole plants of Delphinium elatum var. black night (Ranunculaceae). Amorph. solid. [oc]jy + 8.05 (c, 0.642 in CHCI3). [Pg.46]

This paper described the chemotaxonomy characteristics of two C2o-diterpenoid alkaloids and five C 19-diterpenoid alkaloids from Delphinium albocoeruleum Maxim of Chinese origin. The study indicated that the compound delelatine may be considered as a chemotaxonomic marker for the Delphinium genus as it occurs in Delphinium elatum. Delphinium barbeyi, D. tatsinenense [66], and Delphinium giraldii [67], Delphinine, a major compound, may possibly be utihzed for identification of D. albocoeruleum Maxim. [Pg.941]
