Deep drainage

Payer80 states that the UNSAT-H model was developed to assess the water dynamics of arid sites and, in particular, estimate recharge fluxes for scenarios pertinent to waste disposal facilities. It addresses soil-water infiltration, redistribution, evaporation, plant transpiration, deep drainage, and soil heat flow as one-dimensional processes. The UNSAT-H model simulates water flow using the Richards equation, water vapor diffusion using Fick s law, and sensible heat flow using the Fourier equation. [Pg.1077]

Provide horizontal cut 1.75 in. deep on a Hower baffles to allow for condensate drainage. Remove the 9 tubes in this cut area to allow free drainage, see Figures 11-52A and B. [Pg.359]

A 62-year-old male with history of diabetes and PVD comes to the emergency department complaining of a "painful sore" on his left lower leg. After questioning him, you determine that the wound has been present for months and has not responded to oral antibiotic therapy. On physical examination, a large, deep wound with purulent drainage is seen. [Pg.1180]

An open drainage canal with a rectangular cross section is 10 ft wide and 5 ft deep. If the canal slopes 5 ft in 1 mi, what is the capacity of the canal in gpm when running full of water ... [Pg.230]

Irrigation drainage from saline water must not leach into underlying potable aquifers. To do this, the site that is selected for irrigation should have a deep soil profile and should not be in a flood plain. These measures, along with irrigation... [Pg.54]

Practice indicates that the vapors emanating from these vents are rarely within the flammable region, as the nominal atmospheric pressure of the drainage system is not adequate to allow vapor or gas to pass through the 3-4 in (7.5-10 cm) deep catch basin water seals. [Pg.245]

Decision/Solution. In addition to the neuromuscular facilitation activities, the physical therapist initiated a program of chest physical therapy including postural drainage and deep-breathing exercises. The physical therapist coordinated these activities with the respiratory therapist so that the patient first received a treatment of the mucolytic agent. Also, the physical therapist had the patient self-administer a dose of the inhaled beta-2 bronchodilator approximately 1 hour prior to the chest therapy session, thus allowing the bronchodilator to produce maximal airway dilation and permit optimal clearance of bronchial secretions. [Pg.384]
