Dapsone injection

Mycobacterium leprae has never been grown in vitro, but animal models, such as growth in injected mouse footpads, have permitted laboratory evaluation of drugs. Only those drugs that have the widest clinical use are presented here. Because of increasing reports of dapsone resistance, treatment of leprosy with combinations of the drugs listed below is recommended. 

Aqueous or oily suspensions of dapsone for intramuscular injection can be used to ensure adherence and to prevent resistance due to irregular drug intake. The therapeutic efficacy of intramuscular formulations lasts 3 weeks (43).

Single intramuscular injections of acedapsone maintain inhibitory levels of dapsone in tissues for up to 3 months... 

Intramammary Injection of Dapsone, B.Vet.C. Contains dapsone, 33 3 per cent by weight in a mixture of liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin. 

The assay for dapsone is the same as for Intramammary Injection of Dapsone, above. 

Lu et al. reported an MIP-coated SiO -based flow injection chemiluminescence sensor for dapsone. The SiO particles were initially modified through grafting amino groups by (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane to enhance the cohesion of the MIP layer to the particles. The MIP-coated particles were used for flow injection chemiluminescence analysis of the analyte in the linear range of 1.0 X 10 -1.0 X M with a detection limit of 5.27 X 10" M [375].
