This provides a durable finish which, unlike many other flame retardants, can withstand repeated (50—100) launderiags without a loss of efficiency. An added advantage is that the feel of the cloth (hand) is Htde effected. Principal markets are ia the treatment of iadustrial protective clothing, military uniforms, and, ia Europe, for furnishings. These products are available from Albright Wilson Ltd. and Cytec Industries Inc. 

Flotation Reagents. Only one sulfide mineral flotation collector is manufactured from phosphine, ie, the sodium salt of bis(2-methylpropyl)phosphinodithioic acid [13360-78-6]. It is available commercially from Cytec Industries Inc. as a 50% aqueous solution and is sold as AEROPHINE 3418A promoter. The compound is synthesized by reaction of 2-methyl-1-propene [115-11-7] with phosphine to form an iatermediate dialkylphosphine which is subsequently treated with elemental sulfur [7704-34-9] and sodium hydroxide [1310-73-2] to form the final product (14). Beginning in approximately 1975, both IMG and Ereeport Minerals operated large uranium recovery plants in the United States using this technology. Several plants continue to mn but a number have been closed because of the depressed uranium prices that resulted when uranium from the former Soviet Union flooded Western markets. A relatively small plant is operated by Prayon in Belgium (40). TOPO is available from Cytec Industries Inc. as CYANEX 921 extractant. D2EHPA is available from Albright Wilson Ltd. and is also sold by Daihachi as DP-8R.

The newly developed modified alkyl hydroxamate reagents (from Cytec Industries) tested in this study include S-8704, S-8704D, S-8705, S-8706, S-8706D and S-8765, while the reference collectors used were Aero Promoter 6493 (also from Cytec) and tall oil. The crude clays were dispersed using sodium silicate while soda ash was used to adjust the pH. The frother used in the flotation tests was Aerofroth 70.

Acrylonitrile of 99.5-99.7% purity is available commercially, with the following specifications (ppm by weight, maximum) acidity (as acetic acid), 10 acetone, 75 acetonitrile, 300 acrolein, 1 hydrogen cyanide, 5 total iron, 0.1 oxazole, 10 peroxides (as hydrogen peroxide), 0.2 water, 0.5% and nonvolatile matter, 100. Hydroquinone monomethyl ether (MEHQ) is added as an inhibitor at concentrations of 35-45 mg/kg (ppm) (Cytec Industries, 1994, 1997). Trade names for acrylonitrile include Acritet, Acrylon, Carbacryl, Fumigrain and Ventox.

The INET annular centrifugal contactors are being used to partition high-level liquid waste so that the back end of the nuclear fuel cycle can be simplified. In particular, the TRPO process has been developed at INET for this application (Song, 2000), where TRPO is the extractant in the process solvent. Also known as Cyanex 923, TRPO is a trialkyl phosphine oxide that is made commercially by Cytec Industries (formerly American Cyanamid). It has a high affinity for the actinides. Further...
