Cyclic stability

The cyclic stability (data are not shown) was also tested. After 2000 cycles, there is only a loss of 7 % in the acidic medium. This supports our view that N-doped carbons possess a significantly improved chemical stability. [Pg.217]

With that caveat the design proceeds in essentially the same manner as was outlined for water removal by 4A. We always do the dehydration design first, calculating the bed consumption for handling the water, allowing for a mass transfer zone and then factoring up the bed requirements in view of cyclic stability. [Pg.295]

There are two basic cycles for heat pump operation conventional (15) and temperature upgrading (3, J/[). It is convenient to visualize the operation of these cycles by following the changes in pressure and temperature of each alloy on a Van t Hoff plot. For ease of narration, these curves are idealized. Many engineering properties of metal hydrides must be considered in a detailed explanation (e.g., hysteresis, plateau slope, cyclic stability, etc.). The two cycles are shown in Figure 17. [Pg.246]

Note the signs of the coefficients. We can conclude from what was said above that the higher or lower stability of a cyclic polyene as compared to an acyclic one depends on the combination of signs of the coefficients at the ends of the demethylized compound. If the signs are identical, the even AS is aromatic due to cyclic stabilization if the signs are different, the system is anti-aromatic due to cyclic destabilization. Hence, the Hiickel aromaticity... [Pg.72]

Methionine adds another degree of complexity because the radical cation, which is formed by the same pathway as in the cysteine case, namely, by exclusive electron transfer from sulphur, can stabilize by the formation of a cyclic structure with a two-centre three-electron bond between sulphur and nitrogen. CIDNP has provided unequivocal evidence for this species and allowed to probe its spin distribution, through the polarization pattern.Only an unprotonated amino group can function as a donor and effect the cyclic stabilization, so there is a pronounced dependence of the polarization pattern on the pPI. ° This pH-dependence was explained by a reversible pair substitution of the open-chain and cyclic radical cations, but later reinterpreted as arising from a fast (on the CIDNP timescale) equilibrium between the different forms in conjunction with degenerate electron exchange. ... [Pg.134]

It was reported that the synthesis of mesoporous PANI film on ultrathin graphene nanosheets is favorable for high-performance supercapacitors (Wang et al., 2014b). Due to the mesoporous structure of the composite electrode, it dramatically improved the specific capacitance, rate capability, and cyclic stability in comparison to the bare PANI. The composite displayed specific capacitance of 749 F g at 0.5 A g in 1 M H2SO4 electrolyte and retained by 73% at 5.0 A g i, much higher than 315 F g at 0.5 A g i and 39% retention at 5.0 A g for the pristine PANI. In addition, the composite can maintain 88% of... [Pg.204]

Conducting polymers are promising basic backbones to construct flexible electrodes for LIBs because of their high flexibility, conformability, and versatility. Furthermore, the other active materials can be incorporated into the conducting polymers to form high-performance flexible electrodes. For example, a novel three-dimensional nanoarchitecture composed of PPy-Si core-shell nanofibers was achieved by the deposition of Si onto the electropolymerized PPy nanofibers. This core-shell structure indicated a high cyclic stability after repeated lithium insertion and extraction (Du et al., 2012). [Pg.336]

Li et al synthesized the flexible PPy/GO nanocomposite paper via a facile and one-step chemical oxidation polymerization method, in which the GO was confirmed experimentally to be exfoliated and uniformly dispersed in the resulting nanocomposites [54]. The SC value of the nanocomposite paper had been determined to be about 330 F/g at a scan rate of 100 mV/s. And only 9% decrease in SC as compared to initial value indicates the superior electrochemical cyclic stability of the nanocomposite paper, after 700 cycles at a scan rate of 100 mV/s. [Pg.432]

Figure 7.2g shows the cyclic stability of PANl nanowires at a sweep rate of 100 mV/s for 1500 cycles. There is a small decrease in the specific capadtance value in the first 100 cycles and thereafter the specific capadtance remains almost constant. The decrease in the spedfic capadtance was 8% in the first 500 cycles and 1% in the subsequent 1000 cycles, indicating high stability of the electrode for a long cyclic life. ... [Pg.201]
