Cutback point

Flash point (cutbacks, fluxed bitumen). Standards NF T 66-009 and IP 113... [Pg.290]

Flash Point (ASTMD92). The Cleveland open cup method is most commonly used although the Tag open cup (ASTM D3143) is apphcable to cutbacks. Flash point is an indication of fire hazard and the test is frequendy used to indicate whether a given product has been contaminated with materials of lower dash point. [Pg.371]

At this point black smoke started coming out of the stack, and several of operator B s colleagues began to suggest that they should start to open up the air registers and increase the combustion air and not reduce it any further. However, operator A, now reading 6.5 percent 02 in the convective section on his 02 analyzer, was determined to reach his 6 percent 02, and requested a further cutback on the combustion air. [Pg.258]

Pensky-Martens dosed tester-apparatus used in determining the flash point of fuel oils and cutback asphalt, under conditions prescribed by test method ASTM D 93. The test sample is slowly heated in a closed cup, at a specified constant rate, with continual stirring. A small flame is introduced into the cup at specified... [Pg.197]

Condenser wind-down is the key to the column cooling rate at shutdown. The condenser cooling should be cut back so that column pressure is kept on control for as long as possible. The cutback may raise the condenser outlet cooling water temperature this temperatime must be kept below the boiling point, even if it means losing column pressure. [Pg.325]

As seen in the foregoing presentations, our Japanese chemical industries as a whole had been in very good shape from the macroscopic point of view. However, we observed the downtrend started around the spring of 1991. By now, many chemical companies are obliged to revise their sales and profit plans in downward direction. Investment cutbacks of manufacturing facilities arc reported, while production curtailment is considered in certain sectors. [Pg.40]

Closed Cup (CC). A method used to determine the flash point of fuels, solvents, and cutback asphalts, utilizing a covered container in which the test sample is heated and periodically exposed to a small flame introduced through a shuttered opening. The lowest temperature at which the vapors above the sample briefly ignite is the flash point. [Pg.7159]

ASTM D 3143. 2008. Standard test method for flash point of cutback asphalt with tag open-cup apparatus. West Conshohocken, PA ASTM International. [Pg.165]

Also, the cutbacks (solutions) and emulsions (water dispersions) of asphalt and coal tar pitch are used in various types of cold applications of BUR. Polyester mats are used as alternatives to conventional felts for plies. The market share of cold-applied BURs is small. From the point of view of economy and availability, asphalt is more commonly used in this type of roofing product. [Pg.572]
