CURVE TRANSITION CODE

The curve transition code indicates whether two consecutive segments of a composite curve are considered to join such that they are continuous, with the same gradient, or with the same curvature. This condition takes priority over the actual geometric definition of the curve segments (see "COMPOSITE CURVE" on page 77),... [Pg.56]

As we have indicated, the fully-variational SC calculations along the 6 in 6 CASSCF IRC curves were performed with CASVB, as implemented in MOLPRO [19]. An older SC code [27] was employed only at the transition structures and at the ends of the calculated IRC segments, mainly in order to assist orbital plotting. [Pg.332]

Figure 12. Melting of DNA. (a) The helix-coil transition of a DNA molecule (intramolecular melting), (b) Typical DNA melting profile. This curve is also often called the differential melting curve. The curve was obtained for DNA which has the code name of ColEl and contains about 6500 nucleotide pairs. Figure 12. Melting of DNA. ASME Code Section III at first used the fracture analysis diagram (FAD) for the prevention of brittle fracture. Linear elastic fracture mechanics was introduced in 1972 Summer Addenda, Appendix G. ASME Code Section XI Appendix A and NRC Federal Register lOCFR Part 50 were issued in 1973. In these codes and regulations, RTndt was introduced as an important index temperature to characterize the transition curve of fracture toughness. [Pg.31]

The Charpy tests are performed according to the RSE-M, with instrumented ISO tups. The transition curves of the absorbed energy, the lateral expansion and the fracture appearance are determined. The RTndt shift is deduced from the transition temperature shifts at an absorbed energy of 56 J and lateral expansion of 0.9 mm. The measured values are compared to the upper-bound predictions calculated according to the RSE-M Code. [Pg.77]

In 1984, the GRI published a study that compared and ranked several commercially extruded polyethylene piping materials produced after 1971 [64]. Again, the materials tested were identified by codes. Stress rupture tests were performed using methane and nitrogen as the internal pressure medium and air as the outside environment. Several stress rupture curves showed early transitioning from ductile to brittle failure modes. [Pg.342]
